Anne Main: Right result on C76

Press Release : 11 November 2009

Anne Main, MP for St Albans, has welcomed a decision from the Planning Inspectorate that an application by ASM Metal Recycling for expansion of their operations, on the C76 in Kings Langley, should be refused.

Anne has been working with residents along the C76 for some time, and spoke at the Planning appeal.

Anne said:

“This is the right result. I spoke out at the planning appeal into this application as this green belt site has recently been giving rise to an intensification of use and noise, and this has caused considerable disturbance to local residents.

Residents have accepted over the years that this site should be allowed to operate, but it was the potential increase in usage which was worrying for local people. This is an extremely busy and dangerous stretch of road, and residents have been concerned about increased industrial traffic and noise in the area for some time. This project would have only added to the problems which local residents have been working hard to overcome.”
