Anne Main and Ken Clarke to host St Albans 2010 business summit
Press Release :
19 February 2010
Anne Main, MP for St Albans, is set to welcome Shadow Business Secretary Ken Clarke to St Albans to a business summit next month, to meet with local people and hear about the challenges facing local businesses.
The summit comes after the success of Anne’s 2009 business summit, which saw more than 40 representatives of local businesses gather together to discuss the impact of the recession on St Albans City and District.
Anne said:
“My 2009 St Albans business summit was a really valuable exercise, and when I told Ken about it he was very keen to come along to the next one and meet local business people to get the best possible picture of the situation for businesses in St Albans.
I hope that with Ken’s input this summit will be even more productive than the last one. One year on from the last summit, I felt it was particularly important to take stock of the situation in our area, and give local businesses a chance to air their concerns and find out what they could expect from the leader of our Shadow Business team.
Ken has decades of experience in dealing with economic issues, and I hope his presence at this summit will be a constructive force for local businesses. We still face a great deal of uncertainty, and that is why we all need to ensure we are all working together for the good of our city and the country as a whole.”
