The COVID-19 pandemic is having a big and probably long-lasting effect on the District.
 
Volunteering locally is being organised by Communities 1st on behalf of all local charities. If you need help or would like to volunteer then please visit: https://www.communities1st.org.uk/.

The NHS is also calling for a volunteer army and people can sign up at: https://www.england.nhs.uk/2020/03/your-nhs-needs-you-nhs-call-for-volunteer-army/.

GPs and other medical agencies can raise alerts for people who may need help with shopping or other tasks.

Cllr Julian Daly, used feedback from local businesses to inform local Conservative MPs Bim Afolami and Oliver Dowden on what sort of Treasury response would be most effective, including business grants and the furlough employee support. We are very pleased that his proactive action helped inform the Government’s proposals to meet critical business needs.
