Pothole Prevention !

Last year in the local elections, many St Albans residents spoke to us about the state of the roads. Those concerns have been heard and actions are being taken by the Conservative led County Council

As a result of this the County Council are; 

Herts Conservative Council wins £11m funding boost

Conservative Council wins the right to retain more more business rate income locally. 

In today’s Local Government Finance Settlement it was announced that Hertfordshire will be part of a second wave of councils to be part of the new business rate retention pilot.

City Centre redevelopment takes shape

Major progress is being made behind the scenes with plans to build new housing and business space at a development site in the heart of St Albans.

Reducing the hours of darkness

Herts County Council's Cabinet, at its meeting on 22 October 2018, approved the proposal to reduce the hours of darkness from the existing regime of midnight to 6am to a new period from 1am to 5am and will be carried out in areas that have LED street lighting installed.

Green Ring opened

St Albans Green Ring – a continuous 6.5 mile cycling and walking route around the City – has been officially opened.

The ring connects many of the City’s green spaces, beauty spots and heritage sites as well as schools, workplaces, leisure facilities and residential areas.

More money needed for our schools, says Anne Main MP

Yesterday in Parliament, St Albans MP Anne Main led a debate on school funding. Mrs Main called the debate and made the opening speech on an important issue. Anne’s speech pressed for more money to go into education ahead of the Chancellor’s budget next week.

Thameslink fiasco must not be repeated, says Anne Main MP

Yesterday in Parliament Anne Main met with rail minister, Jo Johnson for an update on Thameslink services from St Albans. The St Albans MP shared the concerns of many of her constituents about the possible delays that could be caused by further planned timetable changes in December.
