Ambrose Killen - Conservative County candidate for St Albans Central division in the Elections on 1st May 2025. This division includes St Peters and parts of Clarence, Hill End, Batchwood & Bernards Heath wards.
Born in St Albans, Ambrose attended local schools and has lived here for over 40 years. He dedicated over 30 years to the Hertfordshire Constabulary.
Ambrose spent a year working at the British Embassy in Moscow before serving as a civil servant and later rejoining the police. He worked with the British Transport Police, Civil Nuclear Police, and the Metropolitan Police, earning commendations for leadership, courage, and professionalism during the 2011 Tottenham riots.
In 2018, Ambrose earned a degree in Biomedicine and Molecular Biology from Birkbeck, London. He actively participates in two NHS Research Ethics Committees, focusing on the ethical aspects of early-stage drug trials.
Ambrose is committed to preserving the Green Belt, open spaces, and chalk streams, and is a member of the Ver Valley Society. He opposes superficial ‘Greenwash’ policies and advocates for meaningful improvements to roads, pavements, and the urban environment.
With the support of residents, Ambrose would aim to bring a thoughtful and ethical approach to council matters, working towards real environmental progress.
