James Cook - Conservative County candidate for the London Colney division for the Elections on 1st May 2025. This division covers London Colney, Napsbury Park, and Tyttenhanger.
James Cook has lived in St Albans all his life, making the most of this historic city.
James understands that residents of London Colney have endured increasing congestion and noise pollution for far too long, and discussions with locals confirm this is a pressing issue. He promises that within 100 days of being elected he will secure a traffic management survey of the local roads, with a view to delivering measures to reduce the volume of traffic.
To address a £3M deficit in the City’s finances, St Albans’ Lib Dem Council is unfairly targeting London Colney residents. The previously free council-managed car park will now impose charges, and parking fees have been raised to exorbitant rates. Parking in St Albans has become unaffordable, and now they're coming after the neighbouring towns and villages.
Businesses have been left reeling after the Labour Government's recent budget, hiking up parking fees, and even worse, introducing new charges where services had once been free, is the complete opposite of what local businesses need. James will stand up for local businesses and use all measures available to reverse this decision.
James is deeply concerned about how spectacularly the Liberal Democrat-led District Council has failed to deliver. He fears that, if given control of the County Council, the potential harm they could cause to Hertfordshire would be devastating.
