And Finally todays annoucement Hertfordshire County Council has helped the next step be taken to a possible 10,000 new homes and 10,000 new jobs after a funding bid to government was successful. Hemel Garden Communities is a proposed major urban extension of Hemel Hempstead which will lead to new residential and employment space, and falls on land in both the borough of Dacorum and St Albans district.The county council has worked with Dacorum Borough Council, St Albans City and District Council, Hertfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership and The Crown Estate on the bid – one of five schemes to receive a share of £3.7m of funding - to the government’s Garden Communities programme. Hemel Garden Communities – with proposed sites to the east and the north of Hemel Hempstead - has been awarded an initial £750,000 from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) to support quicker delivery of the scheme, including the sustainable infrastructure needed for both the neighbouring communities and new garden town. Firstly, the funding will be used for the fast-track specialist survey and planning work required.The Hemel Garden Communities Partnership will use funding to help the delivery of:
